Visitors, Helpers and Chili Cheeseburgers

Over this past month things have really been picking up for Aid Sudan Uganda. We have three teams coming in and out in October and November so we’ve been gathering supplies, scheduling flights and getting our house in order to host these teams. It is going to be very exciting especially the team going into Nimule. It will be comprised of Andrew Brown, our Mission trip Director and the Philip Project Missionaries I have been training for the past months. These guys are so excited about their opportunity to go into Sudan for the first time. They have worked hard to learn almost 18 Bible stories and they can’t wait to see what God will have for them over the seven days they are in Sudan. They really need our prayers because many of them are excited but anxious as well. These guys have spent the majority of their lives in the city, so to go and live in the village will be a stretch for them. But we know that when God calls you, He also provides and gives you the strength and grace you need to do what He has for you.
We are also excited because we have some help coming out!! Yes, the Livingston’s are coming the 4th of November and they will be here to run the program while we are in the States. Wow, what a blessing! Bob will be doing all of our logistical work and he is anxious to get here and get started. We need to be praying for their family as they make this transition - that it would be smooth and that they would settle in well. After almost 2 years of living and ministering here, we are preparing for our first furlough. We are excited to go home to see family and friends and spend the holidays with them. We are also, or at least I am, looking forward to some of the food I’ve missed over the past two years … like a good chili cheeseburger plate half and half. The half and half is half fries and half onion rings and then a big cup of finely crushed ice covered in syrup thick sweet tea!!! Mmm!! Can’t wait!! Please remember us as we will be fairly busy seeing everyone and also doing some speaking at local churches. Continue to pray for us as we raise our support to live and work here.
