 In most areas of southern Sudan, the literacy rate is less than 1% and the people have little or no access to God’s Word. Even for those few who can read, a written text of the Bible is available in only one tribal language, where many languages exist. Aid Sudan’s Radio Station Project broadcasts Chronological Bible Stories, Sudanese news, and community and health development training to repeater stations in targeted regions across southern Sudan – all from the base station in Kampala.
Aid Sudan will distribute solar-powered, fix-tuned radios so people can tune in to our radio station. For just $20 each, these hand-held radios can be manufactured, transported, and distributed to southern Sudan. Each one will last up to 12 years in the bush and can be heard by 10-15 people at one time.

The Project
Aid Sudan is launching a radio station using satellite uplink to get the Word of God to the people of southern Sudan. Programming will include local news, community development training and Chronological Bible Stories in the various tribal languages. In tandem with the stations, Aid Sudan will distribute solar-powered, fixed-tuned handheld radios that will broadcast the programming.
