Travel to Nimule

First of all, huge praise!  I found out we have been approved by the NGO board on our registration renewal so we can live and work in Uganda for three more years!

This past week I was able to travel by road up through the Uganda upcountry to Nimule, southern Sudan. It was a great trip and I was able to see a lot of beautiful countryside. The trip itself had its own challenges as is usually the case in Sudan. I want to thank Far Reaching Ministries for taking such good care of me at their guesthouse. They are remarkable and do a tremendous job with their ministry!

This trip allowed me to accomplish two things. First, I was able to meet with a Sudanese contractor about doing some building construction for us on one of our Village to Village projects. It was so nice to meet with him and we pray that we will be able to work together on this project.

Secondly, I was able to investigate Nimule in terms of cattle camps and broken boreholes for our upcoming trip there in June. It was so amazing to see so many cattle all over the place and to meet the wonderful people who spend all their time taking care of them. I also was able to check out some of the boreholes (water wells) in the area that need repairing.  Many of these boreholes need to work all the time to keep up with the need for water in Nimule. It is going to be great to be able to help them out by getting some of these boreholes back up and running again, the Lord willing.
